Monday Rambling

So I've been thinking all day today, yesterday and possibly even the day before to think of something fun and original to blog about today. Then I gave up on original and have been blog surfing for hours trying to snake an idea off of one of my fellow bloggers without any luck. I've read blogs about organization, snippy library managers, muses being taken hostage, sex in strange places and book reviews just to name a few. I've come to the conclusion that I'm either brain dead or really ready to be on vacation.

Tomorrow the family leaves for Disneyland, 3 days of park hopping in the Magic Kingdom. No computer, no work, no writing and no school, just 3 wonderful days with my two awesome kids and my wonderful husband. I'm SO ready. I haven't been to Disneyland since I was nine years old or somewhere in that vicinity and I've never been to California Adventures. Is it wrong that I'm probably more excited than my kids? ANYWAY - it's been tough to find time for vacations recently. The last time we had a "family" vacation was March 2006. I know this because I was looking through the photos and that was the date stamped on the bottom. We went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo and had mucho fun. My legs were so sore after the first day of walking all over the SD Zoo that I could barely walk across the hotel room, thank goodness they were usable the next day. I've been walking on the treadmill and doing the eliptical machine so hopefully I won't be dying after a day of cruising around. I can't wait to get out of town!

So do you have a favorite vacation spot or maybe a vacation that you want to go on again?

  5. Have a great vaca!! I'm a WDW fan. We could go either direction, California or Florida, and it ends up costing the same, but we do Disney World--more parks for the money! :-)

  6. ditto - have a great time ! my eldest just discovered disneyland on the travel channel a few months back and has brought it up once a week since :D told her we'd all go when the youngest turns 4 (she'll be 2 next month). and yes, i understand about being more excited than your kids 'cause you get to enjoy it twice - once for yourself and again through them !!!

  7. Ban: Take the kiddos when the youngest is just shy of 3 years old. The almost 3 year old will be free in the parks, but old enough and tall enough to enjoy most of the rides! When we took our kiddo we enjoyed rides we've never experienced before AND she was tall enough for most the rides except for a few of them. Just prepare the young ones for the size of the characters--they are BIG.:-)

  8. hmmm... didn't know what the cutoff age for free admission was - we were thinking it'd be easier once she was done with naps. (though an amusement park of that size is bound to wear them down :) thanks for the tip !
