Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to all of you. May the best of your past be the worst of your future.

This year has been a tough year for me personally. There's been issues with my mom and her sister (aka my aunt) which has made things difficult, my dog passed away, which still brings me to tears, I am still searching for a F/T job and I've other personal issues that I am not going to be discussing on the world wide web. It's been a rough one, but I've made a decision, those things are now in the past. I'm going to leave them there.

This year I'm going to try to let go of the past, not an easy task for me, and move forward. Make new strides in my life. Control only what I can control and learn how to accept what I cannot.

What about you? Anything you want to make happen this year?

Best wishes to all of you. I hope you have a safe and prosperous new year. May 2012 be all it can be for you and yours.

  1. Hoping 2012 is a much better year for you, Erika - with that 'kick butt' attitude, you're already on your way!

(BTW - I'm so stealing that 'control only what I can control' mantra)

  2. This year I want to discover and be okay with my new "normal." 2011 was NOT good for me, but I can't control what happened to my health. What I CAN control is my attitude toward it. Hey, I've been left with more time to read. Who can complain about that? LOL
Happy New Year! I hope this is a great one for you.

  3. OH, oh, it looks like I can comment now!!! Hmmm, plans for the new year ... well, I've never been goal oriented so I won't fool anyone by putting some up here. I'm just gonna try to be a better person, 'consistantly' write something, even if it is only 100 words and enjoy the life I've been given and stop allowing myself to get stressed out over little things. There. Sounds good.

  4. Have you all heard of oneword.com? I use it for writing prompts, and it just takes one minute per day. They give you a word and you write what you can in 60 seconds. It's a nice way to get the flow going for writers.

  5. I'm taking a page from Donald Trump's book. 2011, you're fired!

I've spent the last week doing some serious thinking about my life, the future, and what I'm going to do. I'm spending this week putting my thoughts down "on paper", as it were. I don't really do resolutions, but I am setting some goals--month by month. We'll see how it works out.

Hang in there, m'friend. Know that you are in my thoughts. And I love this: May the best of your past be the worst of your future. Absolutely!

  6. Hi Janet, thanks for your support. My attitude is my biggest flaw, I'm trying really hard to improve it. Feel free to steal my mantra, I did. :)

  7. Hi Karen, glad you stopped by. I didn't know you were a writer too, that's excellent. I haven't heard of that website but I will be checking it out.

I hope this year is a great one for you too!

  9. Hi Silver! I think it sounds like you have an excellent plan. Thank you for your thoughts, know that they are greatly appreciated.

BTW, I totally stole that line from the movie THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT. I heard it, loved it, and stole it for my own. :D
