I Need New Authors

I'm kinda particular about what I like to read. Once I find an author that I like, I read everything they've ever written. Then, I sit around, and wait for them to write something new.

I am in need of new authors. I am asking you to recommend to me some of your favorite authors. I'm going to list the authors that I read regularly and obviously, if your author is one of them, I already know about them. ;)

Here are some of the authors that I read (all the time)

Sue Grafton
Allison Brennan
Janet Evanovich
Jennifer Crusie
Sandra Brown
Nora Roberts
J.D. Robb
Jodi Picoult
Susan Mallery
Patricia Cornwell
J.R. Ward
J.K. Rowling
James Patterson
Maureen Child
Jennifer Lyon
Jennifer Apodaca
Karin Tabke
Natalie Collins
Toni Magee Causey
Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Carly Phillips
Karen Robards
Sarah Strohmeyer
Sara Paretsky
Linda Howard
Iris Johansen
Nicholas Evans
Steve Martini

I'm sure I've left some out, but you get the idea. Romance, Suspense, Mystery, this is what I like. Please help me! I thank you in advance.

Happy Reading!

  2. I just finished reading Faerie Fate by Silver James, she owes me a couple of nights sleep. I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep. Great job Silver. LOVED IT! Can't wait for Faerie Fire. :)

  3. LOL! Go tell Amazon and B&N that!!!! And sorry. You can catch up on sleep this weekend. ;)

And I thought of another author to add, Roxanne St. Claire. Rocki finished her Bullet Catcher series so you can read all of them back-to-back-to-back-to...well...there's nine of them? Or more? I can't remember.

  4. You haven't been drafted into the cult of Feehan yet, so I'm gonna suggest her Carpathian series.
Start with Dark Prince by Christine Feehan

Also in the paranormal world is Lara Adrian. She has a Midnight Breed series that is delish. Start with Kiss of Midnight.

On the contemp side I've heard nothing by good things about Sarah Mayberry. She's in my TBR, but I haven't read her yet.

Also Christie Craig for contemp who not that many people have heard of, but manages to turn out a damn good book every time. She's got the Divorced and Desperate series.

Of course, Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, starting with Moon Called is very satisfying.

In terms of porn, I mean, "erotica", you can't go wrong with any of Lora Leigh's books. She's got dozens of series it seems. Pick your poison and go for it. The Nauti series is pretty intriguing, but the Pleasure series is downright hot. She's not afraid to push the envelope, so be sure of what you're getting into before you commit to buy.

I love me some Kate Douglas-also in the realm of erotica. It's werewolf erotica, if you can stand it. It all starts with Wolf Tales I.

Kresley Cole has a very devoted following for her Immortals After Dark series. I'm not in love with her, but I don't mind a fling every now and then.

If you haven't read Lori Foster's SBC series, I recommend it. The only caveat with Foster is she has so many stinkin' reprints you have to check the copyright of every purchase.

    That's it for now :)

  5. Oh yeah, and Nalini Singh. Her Psy/Changeling series is a hit. I wasn't sold in book one and two, but Book 3 got me good and Book 4 was among my fave books read last year.
    Start with Slave To Sensation.

Anne Stuart's Ice series was kinda hot too. Start with Black Ice.

  6. Might I suggest Suzanna Brockmann, Tara Janzen (love her Steele Street crew and she's one of my favs -- her characters are larger than life and over the top black op types)to start. If you're in a paranormal mood, Lori Handeland and the above mentioned Lara Adrian. Have you ever read Outlander by Diana Galbaldon? Jamie and Claire have to be one of my favorite couples, even though I'm not big on historicals.

Anyways, have fun searching for a new author to read. I'm going to write down a couple of names of your list to try out this summer. And I have recently finished my first Jennifer Crusie novel. I loved it!
